# Name link and URL Country Description Link 1 JCOMM Switzerland JCOMM, the Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology, is an intergovernmental body of technical experts that provides a mechanism for international coordination of oceanographic and marine meteorological observing, data management and services, combining the expertise, technologies and capacity building capabilities of the meteorological and oceanographic communities. The creation of this Joint Technical Commission results from a general recognition that worldwide improvements in coordination and efficiency may be achieved by combining the expertise and technological capabilities of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). 2 Ocean Remote Sensing Links USA Links on remote sensing of the ocean. 3 EUROCEAN Portugal Internet Portal 4 The climate of the seas of Russia Russia Average monthly values of the water temperature, air, wind, waves, water salinity, etc. 5 Operational Oceanography Branch of Black Sea Marine Forecasting Centre Russia This is the Basin-scale analysis and forecast product of the Black Sea circulation and stratification (temperature, salinity and currents). This is the operational nominal product for the Black Sea for all application areas. Thirty Five vertical levels are available from 0 to 2100 meters. It is the operational nominal product for the Black Sea. 6 GMDSS JCOMM International The operational JCOMM official web site provides the marine weather information broadcast via Inmarsat-C SafetyNET by all National Meteorological Services (NMS) appointed as Issuing Services within the framework of the WMO Marine Broadcast System for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. 7 IOC France Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO 8 Oceanography and Marine Environment of the Far Eastern Region of Russia Russia The POI specialized web-site is a part of the FEB RAS Network and ESIMO (National Unified System of Information on the World Ocean State) independent regional segment. Information on POI, regional and worldwide databases and other kinds of resources and information products on various aspects of oceanography, meteorology, and environmental issues accessible in the on/off-line mode is available. 9 National Data Center (NODC) Russia Information about the center's activities, projects, etc. 10 SeaDataNet Europe The SeaDataNet infrastructure links already 90 national oceanographic data centres and marine data centres from 35 countries riparian to all European seas. The data centres manage large sets of marine and ocean data, originating from their own institutes and from other parties in their country, in a variety of data management systems and configurations. A major objective and challenge in SeaDataNet is to provide an integrated and harmonised overview and access to these data resources, using a distributed network approach.
